Weight Journey Privacy Policy

phh (“we”, “us”) operates the Weight Journey app. Weight Journey is an adult weight-tracking and BMI screening app. You can use it without creating an account. This policy explains what information is processed when you use Weight Journey, and how to contact us.
1. Purpose of processing
We process information only to:
- Provide weight logging, BMI calculation, progress, goals, widgets, and settings on your device
- Send local weight-logging reminders you choose to enable
- Show ads
- Let you export or import CSV files, share a BMI card, or save a BMI card image you choose
- Respond if you contact us about privacy
We do not use this information for other purposes. Weight Journey does not offer its own cloud backup or cross-device sync.
2. Information we process
Stored on your device. A local SQLite database and SharedPreferences store your profile (height, units, BMI standard, adult confirmation, onboarding status), weight entries (date/time, timezone, weight, optional note up to 500 characters, height used for that entry, and whether the entry was entered manually or imported), goals, reminder preferences, and language. BMI is calculated in the app and is not stored as its own database field. phh does not operate a user-account server and does not collect this health or weight data from the app.
Android system backup. Weight Journey has no in-app backup or restore feature and no phh cloud. If Android Auto Backup / Google backup is enabled on your device, the Android system may include this app’s local database and preferences in your device backup and restore them after reinstall. That process is handled by Google / your device settings, not by a phh server, and is not real-time sync across devices.
Notifications. Local weight reminders are scheduled on your device with AlarmManager after you allow notifications. We do not use Firebase Cloud Messaging for these reminders.
Advertising (Google AdMob). Weight Journey shows an app-opening ad and a banner ad inside the exit confirmation dialog. There is no persistent banner on the main screens. In regions that require consent (including the EEA and UK), Google’s User Messaging Platform is shown before the ads SDK is initialized. Where required, you can manage ad privacy options in Settings. Google may process advertising identifiers, device and app information, IP address, approximate location, and ad interaction data under Google’s policies. The app requests network access for ads (and for BMI reference links you open).
Export, import, share, and gallery save. CSV export writes a file you choose (including calculated BMI in the file). CSV import reads a file you choose and replaces your weight history; it does not replace your profile, goal, reminder, or language settings. Sharing a BMI card creates an image in app cache and uses Android’s share sheet. Saving a BMI card can store an image in your device gallery (Photos). Recipients or gallery copies are under your control.
Other. Home-screen widgets read the same on-device data to show goal progress. BMI in this app is a screening measure for adults, not a medical diagnosis. We do not use Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics.
3. Third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share weight or profile records with other companies for their own marketing. The following Google services may process data according to their policies:
- Google AdMob and the Google User Messaging Platform
- Google Play services (for ads)
- Android / Google device backup, only if you have system backup enabled

4. Retention
- On-device weight and profile data: until you reset data in Settings or uninstall the app (language preference may remain until uninstall)
- Device system backups: according to your Google account and device backup settings
- Ads: according to Google’s retention policies
- Files you export, share, or save to gallery: under your control on the destination you choose
- Email you send us: until the request is resolved
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, and to withdraw consent. You can delete on-device weight, profile, and goal data with Reset data in Settings. For other requests, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you.
6. Age rating and children
Weight Journey is intended for adults 18 years and older. BMI categories in the app are for adults; the app asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older before finishing onboarding. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian can email us to ask for deletion.
7. International transfers
Google’s advertising (and, if enabled, device backup) services may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Those transfers follow Google’s terms and applicable law.
8. Security
Weight and profile data are kept on the device. Ads use Google’s infrastructure. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
